 Treatment options often include various internal or external manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, and behavioral modifications. 


Providing an integrative care model that involves collaboration between Dr. Newton, the patient and the patient other health care providers is always encouraged in order to reach optimal healing potential.


- Common Pelvic Pain & Sexual Health Conditions -

  • Painful intercourse (Dyspareunia) is a very common diagnosis that many women have  at some point in their lives experience. It is defined as persistent or recurrent genital pain that occurs just before, during or after sexual intercourse.
  • Vaginisimus is a vaginal tightness that can cause discomfort, penetration issues, and more. 
  • Vulvodynia (Vulvar pain) is a chronic pain condition involving pain or discomfort to the opening of you vagina (vulva) 
  • Vestibulodynia occurs in the area around the opening of the vagina, inside the inner lips of the vulva. This area is known as the vestibule.
  • Proctalgia fugax  a functional anorectal disorder characterized by severe, intermittent episodes of rectal pain that are self-limited. 
  • Coccydynia refers to any type of persistent tailbone pain typically felt as a localized pain that usually worsens when sitting or with any activity that puts pressure on the bottom of the spine.
  • Episiotomies involve a surgical cut being made at the opening of the vagina in order to assist during a difficult childbirth to prevent rupture of tissues. This surgical site can health with excess scar tissue or muscle or nerve dysfunction. 
  • Lichen Sclerosis involves presence of patchy, white skin that appears thinner than normal around the genital and anal areas. .Anyone can get present with the condition, however postmenopausal women are at higher risk.
  • Insidious (unknown) Abdominal and Pelvic muscle tenderness can be described as achy, sharp, cramping or painful bloating. 
  • Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome (IC/PBS) is often described as pressure, or discomfort in the bladder or suprapubic region which can cause symptoms of increase urinary urge frequency.  
  • Endometriosis and Adenomyosis involves similar to the glandular mucous membrane comprising the inner layer of the uterine wall that develops outside of the uterus OR rows into the muscular wall of the uterus.
